Elk River Man Sentenced for Failing to Register as Sex Offender: Wright County Courts Report

An Elk River man will serve more than three months in jail after he was sentenced in Wright County District court late last month. 

Richard James VanNort, age 23, of Elk River, was sentenced on Dec. 31 for Felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve 111 days jail, pay $100 fine plus surcharges, and pay $75 public defender co-payment. 

VanNort must obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, remain medically compliant, register as a sex offender, provide DNA sample, have no same or similar violations. He was sentenced by Judge Strand.

Chelsea Elizabeth Roley, 23, of Monticello, sentenced on Dec. 20 for Misdemeanor Assault in the Fifth Degree to 90 days jail, $50 fine; 90 days stayed for one year on conditions of probation, pay $50 fine plus surcharges, undergo counseling and follow all recommendations, pay restitution, meet with Workforce Center, provide DNA sample, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge McPherson.

John Ronald Fanaselle, 51, of Elk River, sentenced on Dec. 27 for Gross Misdemeanor Interfere with a 911 Call to 365 days jail, $3,000 fine; 355 days, $2,600 stayed for two years on conditions of probation, serve 10 days jail, pay $400 fine plus surcharges, complete domestic abuse program and follow all recommendations, abide by any outstanding order for protection/harassment order/no contact order, have no contact with victim, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Mottl.

Brady Scott Jones, 34, of Buffalo, sentenced on Dec. 31 for Probation Violations for Felony Terroristic Threats to 18 days jail.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Nashay Snowhite Parker, 23, address unknown, sentenced Dec. 30 for Misdemeanor Theft to 90 days jail, $100 fine; 85 days stayed for one year on conditions of probation, serve 5 days jail, pay $100 fine plus surcharges, stay out of Crazy 8 Store in Albertville, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Nadezhda Yevgeniyevn Petrenko, a23, of Big Lake, sentenced on Dec. 31 for Misdemeanor Fourth Degree DWI to 90 days jail, $200 fine; 89 days stayed for one year on conditions of probation, serve 1 day jail, pay $200 fine plus surcharges, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, attend MADD Panel and provide proof of attendance, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Christina Lynn Rush, 37, of St. Michael, sentenced on Jan. 2 for Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI to 365 days jail, $300 fine; 360 days stayed for two years on conditions of probation, serve 15 days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, attend Awareness Panel for Impaired Drivers, complete a Level II driving program, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.
