Experts, Video and Photos in Court Tell of Tim Larson, Tim Huber

Photographic evidence and testimony from officials at the Tim Huber trial in Willmar gave the jury information Monday about Albertville resident Tim Larson and how he died on Oct. 8, 2011.

They also learned more about Huber, who prosecutors claim played a role in killing Larson, a crime for which Huber's father Delbert is serving a 30-year prison sentence.

KWLM-AM reported:

The jury this afternoon got to watch video from a security camera at H and L Convenience Store in Paynesville as Tim Huber drove up and got gas on that day and ... Kandiyohi County Veterans Service Officer Trisha Appeldorn talked about Tim Larson's military service. Larson went through basic training for the Marines in 1986 and 87, then served in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1990.

The West Central Tribune reported on testimony by the medical examiner and a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Administration (BCA) scientist:

[Medical Examiner Dr. A. Quinn] Strobl testified that full-body X-rays and the autopsy of Larson’s body showed a “snowstorm” effect of bullet fragments in Larson’s left chest, and rib fractures, plus damage to his left lung and lacerations to the spleen and diaphragm. ...

Based on the wounds to Larson’s body, Strobl said, she was unable to determine the range, or distance, from which he was shot. However, she said Larson suffered from “rapid” blood loss and would have lived for a “maximum of minutes” after being shot. ... The BCA photos of Larson’s body showed that his pants pockets had been turned inside out.
