A man Wright County Sheriff's Deputies were hoping to detain this morning for breaking the terms of his parole is on the loose, and now Wright County is asking the public's help in locating the registered sex offender.
Daniel J. Rossberg, who was staying at a supervised house in Monticello Township (about 8 miles west of Albertville) when he fled deputies, is a Level III offender, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections website. That means he is the most likely to re-offend.
Rossberg was taken into custody in 2011 for an offense with a girl between the ages of 13-15. Now 23, he was 19 at the time of the crime for which he was convicted.
Here's the release from the Wright County Sheriff's Department:
On October 24, 2013 at 6:30 PM, the MN Department of Corrections requested the assistance of the Wright County Sheriff's Office at 2954 County Road 37 Northeast in Monticello Township to transport Daniel Joseph Rossberg, 23, to the Wright County Jail on an apprehension and detention order for a parole violation.
Prior to the arrival of Sheriff's deputies, Rossberg left the location on foot. A search of the area was conducted for Rossberg with negative results. The Sheriff's Office was assisted with the search by the MN State Patrol. A Department of Corrections Probation Violation warrant was issued for Rossberg’s arrest.
