“Man in Black” who robbed Albertville Bank Still on Spree

Authorities are now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the man who has robbed several banks in the Twin Cities, including Albertville's Premier Bank last month.

Turns out Albertville was just the beginning for “The Man in Black.”

The aptly named bank robber, who has hit more than a half-dozen banks in the Twin Cities, continued his crime spree yesterday with a holdup of the Premier Banks location in Bloomington.

A witness there told St. Michael Patch she can state, with certainty, that the man hit both banks. She happened to be at meetings at each location the day they were robbed.

The robber, who was described as a white male, entered the bank and approached the teller counter with a handgun.  The robber demanded and received cash from the victim teller.  After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled from the bank.

The robber was described as a white male who stood approximately 5’5” to 5’8” in height, with dark eyes.  He wore a black ski mask, a black cotton jacket and brandished a handgun during the robbery.

The FBI believes the “Man in Black,” a serial robber who has committed several robberies in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, committed this robbery.

Special Agent in Charge Donald Oswald, in conjunction with the Minnesota Bankers Association, is offering a reward of $25,000.00 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of this individual.

If anyone has any information regarding this robbery, they are requested to contact the FBI at (612) 376-3200 or the Bloomington Police Department.

“The Man in Black,” after robbing the back on Nov. 9, has hit banks in Arden Hills, the Uptown area of Minneapolis and Bloomington since that date. He’s robbed bank branches in Northfield, Shakopee and attempted robberies in Richfield and Bloomington prior to his holdup here.
