Milaca Man Facing Charges After St. Michael Arrest

Daniel Manke, 34, faces multiple counts after allegedly strangling his girlfriend at her Monticello Township home. The two argued after he took their child without permission.

A Milaca man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted his Monticello Township girlfriend and expressed intent to kill her late last month.

Daniel Manke, 34, grabbed his girlfriend's neck and squeezed it, expressing intent to "kill her" according to charges filed in Wright County District Court regarding the incident, which occurred in the 6300 block of Halsey Avenue in Monticello Township.

Manke allegedly took the child's couple from the home without her permission. The girlfriend, who has full custody, said she approached Manke about taking the child and about money issues on the night of Dec. 19. An argument ensued, going around the house and eventually winding up in a bedroom.

While there, the girlfriend, who is not named, states Manke struck her and grabbed her several times. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the strongest, she gauged Manke's grip at about a "7," and did say she was in fear of the man during the alleged assault.

Manke faces charges of felony terroristic threats, felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault. If convicted he faces a maximum sentence of more than eight years imprisonment and more than $15,000 in fines.
