Man Kills, Skins and Bakes His Cat: Wright County Arrests

A Monticello man killed his cat on Jan. 6 and then skinned it, added onions and baked it in the oven.

Cody Alexander Mann, 28, of Monticello, faces felony charges of cruelty to animals and animal torture after he was arrested Jan. 6, according to Wright County records and multiple media reports.

A manager in the apartment complex called in a strange smell from Mann's apartment. When deputies arrived, they discovered Mann had inserted the "dinner" in his oven. 

Hours earlier, the deputies had been at Mann's house to check on him, after his concerned father called authorities.

Katie Lee Leon Ortega, 29, of St. Michael was charged with felony 5th degree controlled substance possession.

Todd Lee Jarvi, 27, of Buffalo was charged with gross misdemeanor malicious punishment.

Amber Rose Ellison, 29, of Otsego was arrested in Otsego on the charge of 2nd degree DWI.

Grant David Collier, 19, of St. Michael was arrested in Otsego on the charges of disorderly conduct and minor consumption.

Steven Ray Whited, 28, of Brownton was arrested in Buffalo on the charge of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct.

Juan Eric Newberry, 19, of Big Lake was arrested in Buffalo on a Sherburne County warrant for theft.

Joshua James Gund, 21, of Montrose was arrested in Buffalo on an apprehension and detention order from the MN Department of Corrections.

Dustin James Merges, 26, of Monticello was arrested in Albertville on the charge of 2nd degree DWI.

Eric Edwin Larson, 25, of Otsego was arrested in Otsego on the charge of domestic assault.

Ruben Vasquez, 20, of Albertville was arrested in Albertville on the charge of 3rd degree DWI.

Maurice Shuler, 24, of Atlanta, GA was arrested in Monticello on the charge of aid and abet theft.

Tuan Anh Ngo, 65, of Otsego was arrested in Otsego on the charge of domestic assault.

Scott Gordon Hoglund, 35, of Monticello was arrested in Buffalo on a MN Department of Corrections warrant for parole violation.

Gino Sammy Shuler, 26, of Atlanta, GA was arrested in Monticello on the charge of aid and abet fraud.

Chuckie Ransom, 40, of Atlanta, GA was arrested in Monticello on the charge of fraud.

Natasha Lee Habiger, 24, of Big Lake was arrested in Sherburne County on Wright County warrants for aid and abet theft and false information to police.

Anthony David Anderson, 28, of St. Cloud was arrested in Monticello on the charges of flee police on foot and 4th degree assault.

Derek Ross Lindquist, 41, of Otsego was arrested in Otsego on the charge of domestic assault.

Jan. 5

Asa James Kingsbury, 26, of Becker was arrested in Monticello on the charge of 3rd degree DWI.

James Steven Tinnel, 27, of Monticello was arrested in Monticello on the charge of domestic assault.

Brandon Lee Rasmusson, 22, of Minneapolis was arrested in Monticello on a Hennepin County warrant for theft.

Deputies in Wright County reported 55 Property Damage Accidents, 10 Personal Injury Accidents, two Hit and Run Accidents and nine Car vs. Deer Accidents. There were 8 arrests for DWI, 23 Underage Consumption arrests, and 39 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations reported this week.
