New Year's Eve Calls Low for St. Michael, Albertville

First responders and officers on patrol didn't have much to handle around St. Michael on New Year's Eve, as drivers played it safe. The wintry weather, including snow and ice, might have played a role as well.

The following calls were placed to and the Wright County Sheriff's Department through Jan. 4, 2012.

December 22

The St. Michael Fire Department responded to a fire call at the intersection of Naber Avenue and 42nd Street NE. There was smoke near a storage unit, but the call was cancelled by deputy on scene.

December 23

The SMFD responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Interstate 94.

The SMFD responded to a fire alarm call in the 4000th block of Jason Avenue NE.  It was a false alarm.

December 24

The SMFD responded to a fire alarm call in the 5000th block of Needham Avenue NE.  It was a false alarm.

December 27

Jared Thomas Swanson, 25, of Otsego was arrested in Sherburne County on a Wright County warrant for terroristic threats.

December 28

The SMFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 241 and Naber Avenue NE.  They were cancelled en-route.

December 29

The SMFD responded to a medical call in the 800th block of Welter Road SE. There was a 39-year-old male having difficulty breathing.

December 30

The SMFD responded to a medical call at the intersection of Highway 241 and Interstate 94 to assist New River with a patient transport.

The SMFD responded to a fire call in the 100th block of 1st Street NE.  There was a transformer smoking.

The SMFD responded to a fire call in the 500th block of Ibarra Avenue NE.  Upon arrival it was discovered the property owner had an authorized burning permit.

The SMFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 10000th block of 41st Place NE.  They were cancelled en-route.

December 31

The SMFD responded to a medical call in the 1000th block of Hansack Avenue NE.  A male was having difficulty breathing.

January 4

The SMFD responded to a fire call in the 2000th block of Iffert Avenue NE.  There was chimney fire, but it was extinguished upon arrival.

There were no arrests in St. Michael or Albertville during this time.

According to Wright County Deputies:

There were 13 property damage accidents, two personal injury accidents, two hit-and-run accidents and one car vs. deer accident. There were two other arrests for DWI, 11 underage consumption arrests and 80 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.
