A 55-year-old Otsego woman was killed Friday morning around 7:30 a.m. after she spun out and was struck by another vehicle near the intersection of County Road 37 and Quaday Avenue.

The other vehicle was driven by 38-year-old Becky Allard, who was driving her 3-year-old daughter at the time. Both were uninjured in the crash.

According to the Wright County Sheriff's Department, dispatch was notified of a two vehicle accident at 7:24 a.m. The initial investigation indicates that a 1993 Oldsmobile Achieva was westbound on County Road 37 near Quaday Avenue Northeast, when it spun out on the snow-covered road and collided with an eastbound 2008 Mercury Mountaineer, being driven by Allard.

The driver of the Oldsmobile was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was wearing a seat belt.

Allard and a 3-year-old passenger in the Mercury, were not injured. Elk River Fire and Elk River Ambulance also responded to the scene.

The name of the deceased will be released later Friday. The incident remains under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office and the Wright County Sheriff's Office.
