St. Michael Area Police and Fire Activity Up in Last Days of June, early July

A pole barn fire and weather warnings, as well as multiple underage consumption arrests, highlight the first blotter for July.

The St. Michael and Albertville Fire departments, as well as Wright County deputies, have stayed busy as the weather has warmed up into July.

Here are two weeks’ worth of reports, as last week’s blotter was postponed by breaking news of the state shutdown.

June 20

Dmitiryi Alexsandrovich Sokolav, 26, Shakopee, was arrested in Meeker County on Wright County warrant for financial transaction card fraud.

Michael Dean Struebel, 43, Duluth, was arrested in St. Louis County on a Wright County warrant for disorderly conduct.

Travis Richard Summerlet, 23, Watkins, was arrested in Stearns County on a Wright County warrant for issuance of a worthless check.

Sarah Melissa Mattison, 34, St. Paul was arrested in Ramsey County on Wright County warrants of fifth-degree controlled substance violation and disorderly conduct.

, 33, Albertville, was arrested and charged with felony theft.

June 21

Albertville Fire responded to a tree on fire at 5:50 a.m. on the 8000 block of MacGyver. A tree had started on fire from a lighting strike.

AFD responded to an automobile accident at  3:16 PM on 6200 block of Oakwood Avenue.  They were cancelled in route.

William Landon Cook, 47, Buffalo, was arrested in Otsego on charge of fugitive from justice.

Jaqueline Dolores Weiss, 19, Milaca, was arrested in Benton County on a Wright County warrant for 1st degree burglary.

June 24

Jade Ann Pries, 22, St. Michael was arrested in St. Michael on charge of 3rd degree DWI.

Albertvile Fire responded to the smell of gas at 9:12 p.m. on the 11000 block of 77th Street NE. Investigation found nothing

St. Michael fire responded to a fire call in the 5000 block of Iffert Avenue. A pole barn was on fire. Albertville Fire and Monticello Fire assisted with mutual aid, providing water tenders. 

June 26

The St. Michael Fire Department responded to a medical call in the 400 block of Dogwood Court. A teenager was having a seizure. 

June 27

Brandon Michael Crowser, 29, Fergus Falls, was arrested in St. Michael on charge of 3rd degree DWI.

St. Michael fire responded to a fire call in the 400 block of Edelweiss Lane. There was a cooking fire. 

AFD responded to an emergency medical call at 6:04 p.m. on the 11000 block of Lakeview Drive. A female party was having difficulty breathing.

The St. Michael fire department was paged to a fire call in the 4000 block of Jansen Avenue, but was canceled en route. 

St. Michael Fire responded to a fire call in the 10th block of Front Street. A mattress was on fire. 

AFD responded to an automobile accident at 3:16 p.m. on 6200 block of Oakwood Avenue. They were cancelled in route.

There were nine property damage accidents, three personal injury accidents, two hit and run accidents and two car vs. deer accidents reported by Wright County deputies June 20-27.

There were also four arrests for DWI, four underage consumption arrests and 96 various traffic violations cited for the week.

JUNE 28 to JULY 5

June 28

Zaki Mohamed Sugule, 35, Minneapolis, was arrested in Hennepin County on a Wright County warrant for issuance of worthless check.

June 29
The St. Michael Fire Department responded to a fire alarm call in the 20th block of Central Avenue. They were cancelled en-route

July 1

Brook Marie Best, 31, Albertville, was arrested in Albertville on the charge of drive after cancellation inimical to public safety.

The fire department was dispatched to weather spot in case of severe weather.

St. Michael Rescue responded to a medical call in the 2000th block of Iffert Avenue.  A male was having difficulty breathing.

The fire department also was dispatched for a fire call in the 11000th block of 17th Place. There was a strong smell of gas inside the residence possible coming from the dryer.

July 3

Keith John Ferguson, 50, Maple Grove, was arrested in St Michael on charges of 2nd degree test refusal and 3rd degree DWI.

St. Michael Fire Department responded to a medical call in the 100th block of Birch Avenue NE. There was a male having left side weakness.

July 4

The department responded to a search and rescue call in the Crow River near Millside Tavern.  A kayak had overturned and male party was missing. A 61-year-old female was rescued. The male was found with his kayak near the Dayton river landing.

Wright County Sheriff’s deputies reported 10 property damage accidents, one personal injury accident, six hit-and-run accidents and two car vs. deer accidents for the period of June 28 to July 5. There were also 16 arrests for DWI, 19 underage consumption arrests and 104 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.
