Police Blotter: String of Shoplifters Arrested in Albertville

If there’s a familiar call for Wright County Sheriff’s Department deputies working in the Albertville area, it’s the call to assist with a shoplifting violations.

Despite the “great deals” advertised by the and its surrounding stores, people are always looking for a better discount, said Sheriff Joe Hagerty in an interview with St. Michael Patch last fall.

“It keeps us busy,” he said of the Outlets. “However, they’ve got a great system in place over there with the in-store security, and then the security that’s on site during mall hours. They do a pretty good job of controlling inventory.”

April has seen an uptick in recent arrests at the mall, with most of those arrested hailing from the Minneapolis are or inner-ring suburbs.

Those arrests and a couple of domestic assaults highlight this week’s blotter:

March 30
The St. Michael Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highways 241 and County Road 19. They were cancelled en-route.

April 1
SMFD responded to a grass fire in the 5000th block of Needham Avenue NE.

April 2
SMFD responded to a medical call in the 30th block of Central Avenue E. There was a male complaining of an upset stomach.

April 3
Robert Richard Cloutier, 43, of Otsego was arrested in Otsego on the charge of 3rd degree DWI.

April 4
SMFD responded to a medical call in the 13000th block of Frankfort Parkway NE. A 7-year-old child had fallen from playground equipment.

Kourtney Nichelle Spearman, 20, of Minneapolis was arrested in Albertville on the charges of theft, possession of stolen property and possession of shoplifting tools.

Gregory James Griswold, 49, of Albertville was arrested in Albertville on the charge of driving after cancellation inimical to public safety.

Carissa Rose Merritt, 22, of Brooklyn Park was arrested in Albertville on the charges of theft and possession of stolen property.

Tequla Miranda Maria Morris, 22, of Minneapolis was arrested in Albertville on the charges of theft and possession of stolen property.

April 7
Alisa Marie Hentges, 21, of Fridley was arrested in Otsego on a Wright County warrant for check forgery.

Steven Maurice Mills, 45, of Fridley was arrested in Albertville on the charge of theft.

Barrett Jerome Taylor, 38, of St. Paul was arrested in Albertville on the charge of theft.

Jenna Paige Shanley, 22, of Albertville was arrested in Albertville on the charge of domestic assault.

April 8
Jayson Lawrence Zachman, 31, of Otsego was arrested in St. Michael on the charges of domestic assault and 5th degree assault.

Wright County Deputies reported two property damage accident, one personal injury accident and two hit-and-run accidents. There were seven arrests for DWI, seven underage consumption arrests, one school bus stop arm violation, and 59 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations issued this week.
