Recent Sentencings in Wright County Court

The following court cases involving area arrests were handed down in Wright County Court.

The following sentencing information was provided by the Wright County Attorney's Office.

Coleman, Michael Ryan, age 33, of Maple Grove, sentenced on Aug. 21 for Felony Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve 180 days jail, undergo a chemical dependency assessment and follow all recommendations, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, undergo a psychological evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo an anger management assessment and follow all recommendations, provide DNA sample, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, have no same or similar violations. Sentenced by Judge Halsey. 

Elletson-Smith, Eric Robert Garrett, age 18, of Becker, sentenced on Aug. 21 for Felony Terroristic Threats to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve 60 days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, pay $75 public defender co-payment, have no contact with victim, pay restitution, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, have no same or similar violations. Sentenced by Judge Mottl.

Taylor, Paul, age 59, of St. Cloud, sentenced on Aug. 21 for Felony Terroristic Threats to a stay of execution for five years on conditions of probation, serve 64 days jail, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, complete aftercare and follow all recommendations, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, provide DNA sample, attend a support group, remain medically compliant, have no same or similar violations. Sentenced by Judge Halsey. 

Gunderson, Daniel John, age 21, of Otsego, sentenced on Aug. 22 for Felony Assault in the Second Degree to a stay of execution for seven years on conditions of probation, serve 120 days jail, pay restitution, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, undergo a chemical dependency assessment and follow all recommendations, undergo a psychological evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo an anger management assessment and follow all recommendations, provide DNA sample, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, have no contact with victim, victim's family and victim's residence, have no same or similar violations. Sentenced by Judge Halsey.

Thiele, Chad Michael, age 28, of Buffalo, sentenced on Aug. 22 for Felony DWI in the First Degree to a stay of execution for seven years on conditions of probation, serve 180 days jail, pay $75 public defender co-payment, complete intensive supervision program and follow all recommendations, undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and follow all recommendations, pay restitution, attend awareness panel for impaired drivers, attend a support group and provide verification, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, stay out of establishments where alcohol is primary means of business, provide DNA sample, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, complete a diagnostic assessment and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations. Sentenced for Probation Violations for Gross Misdemeanor Second Degree DWI to 60 days jail, consecutive. Sentenced by Judge Halsey. 

Spraggins, Denis James, age 27, of Minneapolis, sentenced on Aug. 22 for Felony Check Forgery to 365 days jail. Sentenced by Judge Halsey.
