Sentencings: St. Michael and Albertville Area Sentencings for Week of Sept. 26

An has been sentenced in Wright County District Court, four months after he was charged.

William Scott Welch, 41, was arrested back in May on multiple counts on felony possession of pornography after images of underage girls were found on his computer. He was sentenced to four months in prison, must register as a sex offender and will be on five years of probation.

Details on that sentencing, and others handed down in Wright County court the week of Sept. 26:

Charles Patrick Larish, 45,  Albertville,  sentenced on Sept. 27 for Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI to 365 days jail, $3,000 fine; 355 days, $2,600 stayed for three years on conditions of probation, serve 10 days jail, pay $400 fine plus surcharges, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, complete a Level II driving program, complete an anger management program and follow all recommendations, serve 20 days on electronic home monitoring, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced for Misdemeanor Obstructing Legal Process to 90 days jail, $1,000 fine; 80 days, $900 stayed for one year on conditions of probation, serve 10 days jail, concurrent, pay $100 fine, follow above conditions.  Sentenced by Judge Mottl.

Mark Gilmore Swanson, 57, of Otsego, sentenced on Sept. 27 for Gross Misdemeanor Stalking to 365 days jail; 354 days stayed for two years on conditions of probation, serve 11 days jail, pay $75 public defender co-payment, pay restitution, have no use or possession of non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, undergo a psychological evaluation and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Davis.

Hugh James Nelson, 60, of Albertville, sentenced Sept. 29 for Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI to 365 days jail, $3,000 fine; 345 days, $2,700 stayed for three years on conditions of probation, serve 20 days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, pay restitution, attend awareness panel for impaired drivers, complete a chemical education class, serve 10 days on electronic home monitoring, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Mottl.

 William Scott Welch, 41, of Albertville, sentenced Sept. 29 for Felony Possession of Pornography to a stay of imposition for up to five years on conditions of probation, serve 120 days jail, pay $500 fine plus surcharges, pay $500 fine plus surcharges, provide DNA sample, register as a sex offender, have no use or possession of pornography, have no use or access to the internet unless approved by probation agent, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no contact with persons under the age of 18 years unless approved by probation agent, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, undergo a psychological evaluation and follow all recommendations, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, submit to polygraph examination, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Mottl.
