St. Michael Man Sentenced to Month in Jail for Domestic Assault

In other recent court cases, two Monticello brothers were sentenced for storing hazardous waste.

A St. Michael man will be doing some time after he was sentenced in Wright County Court last month for an assault charge. 

Thomas Gregory Cavanaugh, 29, of St. Michael, was sentenced on Nov. 19 for Felony Domestic Assault to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve 30 days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, obtain permission before leaving the state, provide DNA sample, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, undergo a domestic violence assessment and follow all recommendations, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, undergo a chemical dependency assessment and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Cavanaugh was sentenced by Judge Elizabeth Strand.

In other sentences handed down in late November: 

Cory James Agre, 32, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 21 for Probation Violations for Felony Domestic Assault to 14 days jail.  Sentenced by Judge Tenney.

Bentley, Joseph Allen, age 30, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Domestic Assault to 90 days jail, pay $75 public defender co-payment.  Sentenced by Judge Davis.

Andrew Jacob Brownell, 22, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 15 for Felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender to one year and one day prison.  Sentenced by Judge McPherson.

Daniel Alan Childs, 49, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Felony Financial Exploitation of Vulnerable Adults to a stay of imposition for twenty years on conditions of probation, serve 30 days jail, pay $85 surcharges, obtain permission before leaving the state, provide DNA sample, pay restitution, complete cognitive skill training, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Amanda Trish Foster, 34, of Becker, sentenced Nov. 18 for Felony Controlled Substance Crime in the Third Degree to a stay of imposition for twenty years on conditions of probation, serve 180 days jail, pay $100 fine plus surcharges, pay $75 public defender co-payment, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, obtain permission before leaving he state, provide DNA sample, remain medically compliant, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, undergo chemical dependency treatment and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand. 

David Scott Hermann, age 41, of St. Michael, sentenced on Nov. 20 for Felony Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve nine days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, obtain permission before leaving the state, submit to random testing, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, provide DNA sample, remain medically compliant, undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Troy Robert Hess, 30, of Buffalo, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Misdemeanor Assault in the Fifth Degree to 41 days jail.  Sentenced by Judge Davis. 

James Brandon Holt, 30, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Felony Hazardous Waste-Store to a stay of imposition for three years on conditions of probation, serve 90 days jail, pay $85 surcharges, obtain permission before leaving the state, undergo counseling and follow all recommendations, pay restitution, provide DNA sample, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, remain medically compliant, do no engage in the business of dismantling, recycling, possessing and/or disposing of items that contain hazardous materials, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Ronald Glen Holt, 30, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Felony Hazardous Waste-Store to a stay of imposition for three years on conditions of probation, serve 90 days jail, pay $85 surcharges, obtain permission before leaving the state, undergo counseling and follow all recommendations, pay restitution, provide DNA sample, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, remain medically compliant, do no engage in the business of dismantling, recycling, possessing and/or disposing of items that contain hazardous materials, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand. 

Justin Philip Iaquinto, 23, of Monticello, sentenced on Nov. 19 for Misdemeanor Assault in the Fifth Degree to 90 days jail, $300 fine; 80 days stayed for one year on conditions of probation, serve 10 days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, provide DNA sample, have no sue or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, pay restitution, have no contact with victim or victim's residence, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Scott Gerald Kaminski, 36, of Buffalo, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Probation Violations for Felony Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree to 22 days jail.  Sentenced by Judge Strand. 

John Joseph LePage, 47, of Monticello, sentenced Nov. 21 for Misdemeanor Fourth Degree DWI to 90 days jail, $100 fine; 87 days stayed for two years on conditions of probation, serve 3 days jail, pay $100 fine plus surcharges, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, complete a Level I driving program, serve 20 days on electronic home monitoring, complete 32 hours community service, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Tyler Aaron Pierce, 23, of Buffalo, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Felony Controlled Substance Crime in the Fifth Degree to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve 30 days jail, pay $200 fine plus surcharges, obtain permission before leaving the state, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, attend a support group, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, undergo chemical dependency treatment and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand. 

Justia Jolyse Segner, 22, of Albertville, sentenced on Nov. 18 for Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI to 365 days jail, $300 fine; 363 days stayed for two years on conditions of probation, serve 2 days jail, pay $300 fine plus surcharges, pay $75 public defender co-payment, attend Awareness Panel for Impaired Drivers, undergo counseling and follow all recommendations, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, pay restitution, undergo chemical dependency treatment and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.

Stephen Jean Thibodeaux, 19, of Buffalo, sentenced Nov. 18 for Felony Receiving Stolen Property to a stay of imposition for five years on conditions of probation, serve 120 days jail, pay $85 surcharges, pay $75 public defender co-payment, have no use or possession of alcohol or non-prescription drugs, submit to random testing, obtain permission before leaving the state, provide DNA sample, have no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, have no contact with victim or victim's family, remain medically compliant, pay restitution, undergo a psychological evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and follow all recommendations, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge Strand.
