Warm Weather Slows Fire, Police Calls in St. Michael Area

Summer-like weather has helped slow down police and fire calls recently across Wright County.

The Wright County Sheriff's Department is seeing a slowdown in calls, but is still warning residents to keep valuables out of their vehicles this spring as certain neighborhoods have been hit by "smash and grabs."

"Some haven't even had to smash," said Sheriff Joe Hagerty recently. "The car doors are just open. The bottom line is, get the electronics out of your vehicle. That's what these guys are looking for."
