Albertville Towne Lakes resident Chad Dahlheimer had previously come to the council after spending close to $1000 on a chicken coop for his residential backyard. After spending the money and building the coop he received a violation from the city and believed he was following ordinance due to a conversation with city hall.

Also on the agenda is further discussion regarding the permanent city administrator. Robert Thistle has started his temporary role but because filling the position permanently can take 6 months, the council is beginning to make a long term, permanent plan.

Previous workshop meetings led the council to direct staff to get preliminary RFP's from two search firms but at the July 16 meeting, the motion to accept one of the proposals wasn't accepted. With Mayor Mark Meehan absent, it was a split vote on whether the city could bring Springsted on for the cost of $1500 to do the initial job description. Vetsch and Hendrickson voted yes, stating they were trying to work together and Sorenson and Wagner voted no, stating they would not vote for nonbudgeted expenses.

"Going forward then we don't act on any nonbudgeted items," John Vetsch said.

The adhoc committee met following the council meeting and more information including costs already incurred by the city will be discussed at tonight's meeting.
