Albertville Mayoral Candidate Hendrickson Campaigns and Collects Foodshelf Donations

As Jillian Hendrickson has campaigned for mayor this fall, she decided she could do more.

For many, an evening interrupted by a candidate can be inconvenient so decided to do something that would help others as well.

Collect food donations.

"Jill thought if these volunteers and herself were already going around door to door to hand out brochures and information on her candidacy it would be a good opportunity for everyone in the community to give back to the community," Ryan Hendrickson said earlier this week.

So Hendrickson, family and friends collected food donations for the Hanover Food Shelf last Thursday night. The night was a success with generous families bringing arms full of donations to the door and Hendrickson and volunteers getting the word out.

"It was amazing to watch the residents of Albertville come back to their door with arm fulls of food donations. Everyone was very giving. I am thankful to live in a community like ours, the small town feel was present last week & we all met a lot of great people," she wrote in an email this week.

The night ended with hot coffee, cocoa, and hot cider for all of the volunteers. Hendrickson, family and friends will be going out again tonight and if anyone is interested in joining them they can contact Jill at jill.schommer@gmail.com.
