Bachmann Beat: Chatting with Trump About the Chinese Challenge

An aggregated daily roundup of news and commentary about U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann.

Sixth-district congresswoman and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has gone on the offensive against President Obama, blaming him for the Congressional supercommittee’s failure to reach an agreement on the $1.2 trillion deficit-reduction deal.

She said he shouldn’t have been “AWOL” on a nine-day trip to Asia, and compared his absence to the children’s book “Where’s Waldo.”

Bachmann met with former Republican presidential candidate and billionaire business mogul Donald Trump on Monday and discussed the threat that China poses the United States.

"We have a lot in common–both of us see the threat that we have from the Chinese to our economy," Bachmann told reporters after their meeting. "We see how they are stealing away market share and also jobs out of the United States."

She said they also talked about how OPEC "is strangling the United States consumer based upon the price at the [gasoline] pump."
