Filing Opens for Albertville, St. Michael Seats

There are a host of local seats open for the November election right here in St. Michael and Albertville.

The Albertville City Council will have two council positions open, plus the two-year mayor seat.

St. Michael City Council will also have two openings, as well as the mayoral position.

For any city positions, file and affadavit of candidacy and pay the $2 fee at either or prior to the deadline. 

The St. Michael-Albertville School Board will have openings as well. According to the district: St. Michael-Albertville Public School District ISD 885 has three (3) School Board positions open for the 2012 General Election, Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

Filing runs from July 31, 2012 through August 14, 2012 at 4 p.m. The district does not have a primary election.

To file for a school board position, file the affidavit of candidacy and $2 filing fee with the district election clerk, Suzanne Gallagher at the District Office.

The ISD 885 District Office is located at St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West

The filing period for these seats will run from Tuesday, July 31 through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012.

To be eligible to file for office, , the candidate must:

• Be an eligible voter

• Is, or will be on assuming office, 21 years of age or more

• Maintained residence in the district wherein he or she resides thirty days previous to the election
