Hennepin County Board Approves Funding for Interchange Construction in Rogers

Construction is anticipated beginning spring 2014 with anticipated completion fall of 2015.

The Hennepin County Board agreed to share costs of constructing an interchange at Highway 101 and 141st Avenue North with the city of Rogers at the July 17 county board meeting

The cost to the county will be $2 million of the total $22 million project.

This intersection is located approximately one mile north of I-94 and one-fourth mile west of Rogers High School and Rogers Middle School.

There are currently safety and operational issues at the intersection due to increased traffic, according to a memo provided to the board, related to "increased traffic volumes experienced since the construction of the westbound I-94 flyover bridge" to northbound Highway 101 by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

New traffic signals will be provided at the ramp terminals as well as the intersections located immediately east on 141st Avenue North at Rogers Drive/James Road and immediately to the west on 141st Avenue North at Northdale Boulevard.

Construction is anticipated beginning spring 2014 with anticipated completion fall of 2015.
