Michele Bachmann to Hold Constituent Coffee Sessions on May 11, 2013

The congresswoman will also host a public symposium on veterans services on May 13 in Ramsey.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann will hold two "Coffee with Your Congresswoman" events on Saturday, May 11:

  • 8:30–9:30 a.m.: Caribou Coffee, 4135 W. Division St., St. Cloud
  • 10:30–11:15 a.m.: Triple R Grill & Bar, 37 Maus Dr., Kimball, MN

"I hope you’ll join me for coffee and conversation on Saturday, May 11 in St. Cloud or Kimball," Bachmann said on Twitter.

Veterans Issues Symposium
Bachmann will host a Veterans Issues Symposium on May 13, 2013 at the Ramsey Government Center, 7550 Sunwood Dr. NW, Ramsey. "I hope this symposium will spark a much-needed discussion over the important issues facing Minnesota’s veterans and highlight existing programs and resources available to them," she said on her congressional website.

Iowa Lawsuit
Bachmann is in talks to settle a lawsuit over alleged theft of an Iowa homeschool association's email list during her 2012 presidential campaign, the Star Tribune reported.

Iowa Ethics Panel
The Iowa Senate Ethics Committee voted on May 1, 2013 to ask for an independent counsel to investigate charges that Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson received payment from Bachmann's 2012 presidential campaign in violation of state senate ethics rules, the Star Tribune reported. The investigator will also look into the alleged stolen email list.

Religious Freedom
A Bachmann for Congress pledge to "Protect Religious Freedom in the Military" drew a threat of legal action from Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, who says the pledge calls him "radical" and "anti-Christian," U.S. News & World Report reported.

Benghazi Hearing
Bachmann urged her Twitter followers to watch the U.S. House Oversight Committee's May 8, 2013 Benghazi hearings on C-SPAN. She had a better place to watch—from directly behind the witness table, as seen on Fox News.

National Day of Prayer and Fasting
Actor Chuck Norris joined Bachmann in calling Sept. 11 a National Day of Prayer and Fasting. Also on May 2, Bachmann posted on Facebook: "On the National Day of Prayer, please join me in praying for our great nation. And not just today, but every day."

Congressional Certificates of Merit
Bachmann presented 11 high school seniors with Congressional Certificates of Merit on April 26, 2013 in Monticello: Hannah Zipoy, Kimball Area High School; Michael Witschen, Monticello High School; Diane Wertish, Immaculate Conception Academy; Isaac Darland, Dassel-Cokato High School; Eric Rapheal, Forest Lake High School; McKenzie van der Hagen, Rocori High School; Isaac Eickhoff, St. Cloud Christian School; Brianna Vickerman, Big Lake High School; Alyssa Haus, Becker High School; Emily Kirby, Legacy Christian Academy; and Trey Soukup, Delano High School.
