Michele Bachmann Stops In St. Michael on Last-Minute Get Out the Vote Tour
With hours until the polls open, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann was in St. Michael Monday night on stop five of six thanking campaign and party volunteers.
Colorful Congresswoman Michele Bachmann hit the campaign trail hard the day before Election Day, visiting all six of her District 6 GOP "victory" offices in a district-wide tour Monday.
Bachmann stopped to personally thanked each and every volunteer working the phones at the St. Michael District 6 office, stop No. 5 of six planned for the night.
At around 7 p.m. there were more than 30 volunteers manning the phones for the Tea Party caucus founder and other Republican endorsed candidates. An additional 30 high school students were on hand after campaigning door-to-door in the mist and clod throughout St. Michael and Albertville.

Many of the students, some of whom aren't even old enough to vote in this year's election, were making "Get Out the Vote" calls from personal cell phones.
"I've absolutely loved doing this," said 17-year-old Sarah Omann of North Branch. "Just knowing that I'm a part of a very critical election means a lot."

Elice Hanson, 17, of Excelsior felt the same. "Even though I can't vote this year I can still contribute. I love making a difference," she said.
"We've been so encouraged everywhere we've gone today," Bachmann told volunteers in St. Michael, noting that the response she has heard all day from Blaine to Ramsey to St. Cloud and Waite Park and now St. Michael has "all been really good."
"We are going to win this for [Mitt] Romney, and every one of you is making a difference," she said.
Tomorrow Bachmann will tie up lose ends and celebrate with the Minnesota State GOP at a "Victory Party" set for the Hilton Airport Hotel in Bloomington.
"She has some press events, more thanking of volunteers and even some time with her family," Bachmann campaign manager Chase Kroll said Monday night.
Bachmann leads DFL contender Jim Graves, a businessman from St. Cloud, in most public polls. The closest, a DFL-based internal poll, has her up two points. The Minneapolis Star Tribune's most recent poll had the Republican incumbent up about six points.
The duo finished a set of three debates Sunday in Minneapolis at the studios of KSTP, the Twin Cities' ABC affiliate.
"We did everything we are supposed to do, and I'm proud. I want us to win every ticket," Bachmann said as she left to visit the Waconia District 6 office.
