Minnesota's Rep. Michele Bachmann Endorses Romney

After waiting months to throw her name back into the presidential race, Rep. Michele Bachmann will get behind the presumptive nominee.

Local and national media outlets are reporting Rep. Michele Bachmann, who is now running for , which includes St. Michael and Albertville, has given her endosement to former Gov. Mitt Romney in the Republican race for the presidential nomination.

Romney, who squared off with Bachmann in the early stages of the campaign for the nomination, gets an endorsement he "needed," according to pundits, as Bachmann represents basic Tea Party beliefs embraced by staunch conservatives, who have been hesitant to embrace Romney as the party's candidate to square off against President Barack Obama.

With former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich stepping out of the race earlier this week, Romney's lone challenger is Rep. Ron Paul, as more primaries line up this weekend.

Paul, mathematically, can't catch Romney in terms of delegates won. But, he could garner enough delegates to keep Romney from earning the automatic nomination.
