More I-94 Lanes? STMA Delegation Lobbies DC Lawmakers

Sen. Klobuchar and Rep. Bachmann are among the federal officials the locals met, according to the Sun Press & News.

A contingent of local St. Michael-Albertville officials is back from a trip to Washington, D.C., where they pressed for local priorities, the Sun Press & News reported:

"Albertville mayor Jillian Hendrickson and council member Rob Olson, and St. Michael mayor Jerry Zachman and council member Chris Schumm, recently went to Washington, D.C., to talk to Minnesota elected officials Amy Klobuchar and Michele Bachmann about the Interstate 94 corridor between Rogers and St. Cloud. ...

“'MnDot has no plans to expand I-94 in the next 20 years and this is a problem. We need six lanes,' Hendrickson said. The I-94 West Corridor from St. Michael to St. Cloud accounts for 40% of the congestion on MnDot’s Interregional Corridor system and crash and severity rates between Rogers and St. Michael are twice the statewide average."
