New Candidate for Michele Bachmann's Seat: DFLer Judy Adams

She joins Republican Tom Emmer in the 2014 Sixth District race after Bachmann and Jim Graves dropped out.

Less than two weeks after U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and her DFL challenger Jim Graves left the race, Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District—including St. Michael-Albertville—again has one candidate each from the Republican and DFL parties. 

Judy Adams of Circle Pines announced she is running as a DFLer Monday, according to the St. Cloud Times

Adams, who calls herself “the lead-prevention lady,” hasn’t run for or held elected office. She says she works as a painter and lead remodeler and has used her expertise on those issues to lobby Minnesota legislators to improve state lead laws. Now Adams says she’d like to advance that cause, as well as the cause of small businesses, as a member of Congress. ...
Adams is the former owner of a mobile home park in Melrose, Rose Park, from which 12 mobile homes were demolished and removed by Stearns County. She said Monday that she’s currently in a court battle to try to regain ownership of the park.
