Sen. Amy Koch Rebuts DFL's Assertions of Inexperience with YouTube Moment

In Case You Missed It: The Senate Majority Leader went viral last week as she shot back at the Minnesota Senate Minority Leader's accusation of inexperience.

Sen. Amy Koch (R, Buffalo) may be one of many "firsts," but she isn't taking her leadership role lightly.

In a media briefing at the State Captiol last week with Republican leadership at the podium, Koch pulled no punches in a soundbyte that quickly became her "You Tube Moment" for the session thus far.

The row started when Sen. Tom Bakk (DFL, Virginia), a legislator since 1994, stated the Republicans were showing inexperience by not entering the budget fray. Bakk stated the majority didn't have "experienced hands" to create a budget, and were standing on the sidelines criticizing DFL Gov. Mark Dayton's budget instead of walking to the front with their own.

Koch was quick to take umbrage with that assessment, stating the new Republicans were "citizen legislators" in a "citizen legislature," and that experience had only created a "convulted system" of governement for the DFL.
