Sen. Amy Koch, Republican Leadership Hold Firm to "No Tax Hikes" Pledge

The Senate Majority Leader, who is from Buffalo, continues to rebuke the Governor's idea that takes hikes are necessary to balance the state budget.

With less than two full weeks to the end of the Minnesota Legislative session, the Republican leadership broke away for a brief press conference Friday afternoon. 

Leading the charge was District 19 Sen. Amy Koch (R, Buffalo), the Senate Majority Leader, who held firm to the party's "no tax increase" pledge made prior to the 2011 session. 

When asked about "tax fairness" Friday, Koch said she and the Republican majority in the senate are working on shoring up their budget propsals with their colleagues in the State House.

Whether those proposals lead to a budget agreement before a special session is needed remains to be seen.
