Sen. Koch, GOP Aiming at Popular Stadium Funding Source

With a special session in doubt, and a sales tax increase for Ramsey County off the table, the Minnesota Legisature's leadership, including Sen. Maj. Leader Amy Koch (R-Buffalo) is looking for the answer.

The Minnesota Vikings are desperately seeking a new stadium package, as their lease on the Mall of America Field at Metrodome comes to a close at the end of the 2011 season.

As Gov. Mark Dayton and the Minnesota Legislature see that end nearing, the two sides have been holding meetings to discuss the possiblity of a special session to discuss a proposed Viking stadium in Arden Hills, or a variety of other stadium packages proposed by local politicians and business owners in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Here, Sen. Amy Koch of Buffalo, the Senate's Majority Leader, discusses the latest round of talks with The Uptake.
