Sentencings: Parole Violation Lands Local Man in Jail

The following sentencings were handed down in Wright County District Court. All information was provided by the office of Wright County Attorney Tom Kelly.

Thomas Carlton Allen, 19, of Minneapolis, sentenced on April 4 for Gross Misdemeanor *Theft to 365 days jail, $3,000 fine; 350 days, $3,000 stayed for two years on conditions of probation, serve 15 days jail, pay $75 public defender co-payment, complete a educational program and follow all recommendations, provide DNA sample, have no contact with co-defendants, complete 32 hours community service, have no same or similar violations.  Sentenced by Judge McPherson. (*Incident occurred in Albertville)

James Dean Becher, 40, of Otsego, sentenced on April 2 for Probation Violations for Misdemeanor Fleeing a Peace Officer to 30 days jail.  Sentenced by Judge Halsey.

Eric John Maurus, 40, of Hanover, sentenced on April 5 for Probation Violations for Felony Domestic Assault to 30 days jail.  Sentenced for Probation Violations for Felony Assault in the Fifth Degree to 30 days jail, concurrent.  Sentenced by Judge Halsey.

Michael John Steffens, age 29, of Albertville, sentenced on April 5 for Probation Violations for Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI to 180 days jail.  Sentenced by Judge Halsey.
