St. Michael, Albertville Councils Meet Tonight on Hockey Arena Expansion
A special joint meeting has been called to discuss funding plans for an arena expansion.
The St. Michael and Albertville city councils will sit down at 6:30 p.m. tonight with one item on the agenda for this special joint meeting at St. Michael City Hall.
The group will discuss the proposed funding plan for an expasion at the St. Michael-Albertville Hockey Arena in Albertville, which was proposed at the STMA Arena Board's most recent meeting.
The two sides are looking to get on the same page, city staff said, as the project looks for funding. The STMA Hockey Association has proposed fundraising for its portion of the cost, while the two cities and the St. Michael-Albertville School District will be asked to pitch in for a second sheet of ice at the arena.
