St. Michael City Council, Staff to Lay Out Budget Process

The council will also discuss ways to control high water on Bebee Lake and methods of funding the necessary improvements at tonight's meeting.

The St. Michael City Council will lay out its plans for the 2012 budget, beginning with Assistant City Administrator Steve Bot's presentation at tonight's meeting.

The council was able to hold last year's general fund levy mostly flat for 2011, but some major bond payments are due beginning in 2012, including the downtown redevelopment district and the Highway 241 "one-way pair."

The city will also hear from Administrator Bob Derus, who will discuss methods of covering costs for improvements on Beebe Lake, which the city will help with flood problems.
