Travel Tip: I-94 Remains One Lane in Each Direction Between Clearwater and St. Cloud

Traffic on eastbound I-94 was backed up about four miles west of Highway 24 in Clearwater at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Motorists travelling between the Twin Cities Metro Area and St. Cloud for the Minnesota Fishing Opener are reminded that Interstate 94 is reduced to a single in each direction between Clearwater and St. Cloud. 

Traffic on eastbound I-94 was backed up about four miles west of Highway 24 in Clearwater at 2:30 p.m. today.

Motorists should plan extra travel time and consider alternate routes including Highway 10, Highway 55 or other supporting roads. 

Motorists on eastbound I-94 must slow down and be prepared to stop. Drivers should also do the Zipper Merge by using both eastbound lanes until the designated merge point near the Highway 24 exit in Clearwater.
