Wright County Republicans Set to Convene in Buffalo Saturday

In what should be a definitive, historic day for the party in Wright County, the GOP will meet to hammer out possible candidates for the 2012 election.

With a new Minnesota Legislative District impacting the county's largest city () and the fastest-growing community (Otsego), Wright County Republicans will meet Saturday morning in Buffalo to discuss the party's plans for the 2012 election.

Topics will range from delegate deisgnations to the endorsement of local, county and state candidates all the way up to the new-look Congressional District 6, where Rep. Michele Bachmann, a Wright County favorite, has been bordered out physcially, but still plans to to run in defense of her seat.

The Republican Party of Wright County Basic Political Unit is hereby called to meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at The Discovery School, 301 2nd Ave. NE, Buffalo, MN.

The Republican Party of Wright County Basic Political Unit shall be composed of delegates and alternates selected by the Precinct Caucuses on February 7th, 2012.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:30 a.m.  Pre-registration is $20 for delegates and alternates.  Registration at the door will be $25 for all delegates and alternates who did not pre-register. A $10 fee will be collected from each guest over the age of 18. 

The convention shall be held for the purpose of:
1. Election of State and Congressional District Delegates and Alternates – 2 year term
2. Approval of BPOU Constitutional changes
3. Consideration of Resolutions to the Republican Party of MN Platform
4. Consideration of endorsement of Candidates for districts completely within this BPOU
5. Election of any vacant Executive BPOU Board positions
6. Transaction of other business as may properly come before the convention
