Wright County Sheriff to Talk Guns with Tea Party

Sheriff Joe Hagerty of St. Michael will speak Tuesday night about local and national developments on gun ownership.

 

Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty, who is also a resident of St. Michael, is scheduled to speak about gun control and the Second Amendment Tuesday night at a Wright County Tea Party Patriots meeting.

The meeting is open to the public and is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Buffalo Municipal Airport meeting room. The group is hosting Hagerty as a featured speaker at their monthly meeting.

Hagerty "will be speaking on recent developments concerning firearm possession at both the local and national levels pertaining to the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms," said a Wright County Tea Party Patriots written statement.

The meeting will also feature a question and answer session with Hagerty.

Hagerty has been with the Wright County Sheriff's Deparment for 27 years — he began as a deputy sheriff in 1985, and has been sheriff since 2011. He was born and raised in St. Michael where he currently resides with his family. Hagerty is also a former St. Michael City Council member.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is the third-largest sheriff’s office in Minnesota. It provides law enforcement services to the unincorporated areas of the county and contract police services for 13 cities.

Buffalo Municipal Airport is located at 1309 County Road 134, north of Mendard's.
