Academic Honors for former St. Michael-Albertville Students

The following local grads and former residents have been honored by their institution of higher learning.

• The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team continued its semester of success at the Mike Nicolai Invitational Forensics Tournament. Sophomore Imran Khan, Brooklyn Park, and freshman Caitlyn Duley, Saint Michael, placed fifth in duo interpretation.

Sara and Lindsy Morgan, both of Albertville, were among those honored on the Lewis University Deans' List for fall semester 2011. To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit with a grade point average of 3.25 out of a possible 4.0.

Caitlyn Bistodeau, daughter of Debra Poirier of Albertville, was named with High Honors to the fall semester dean's list at Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn. The dean's list includes full-time students with a grade point average (GPA) during the semester of 3.65 (out of 4.0) or higher. Bistodeau is pursuing a degree in Psychology at Northwestern. High honors are awarded to students with a GPA of 3.75-3.89.

• The Lewis University Mock Trial teams finished 2011 on a strong note. Lewis A team competed in the 16th Annual Yale Invitational in Connecticut, and finished 11th out of 40 teams participating. Freshman Sara Morgan of Albertville is on the Lewis University Mock Trial team. The team starts off the second half of the season Jan. 21-22 as it competes in the Alumni Invitational at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

James Schroeder of Otsego was named to the Dunwoody College of Technology's Fall Quarter Dean's List. Schroeder received this honor by upholding a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
