Reading with Horses - 4th - 6th grade

Just imagine - having fun with horses while at the same time learning secrets and skills to make reading easier and more exciting!  Dr. Michele Pickel, Professor of Education at Concordia University, teams up with Hillside Hope and their four legged teachers to create a unique learning opportunity for students to:  *  Discover why the right reading tools matter  *  Learn secrets of building vocabulary & fluency  *  Figure out how to read context clues  *  Learn to deal with distractions while reading  *  Grow Comprehension through connections.

By the end of the week, students will have lassoed new reaing skills, loaded their saddle bags with literacy tools and branded their memory with comprehension strategies.
