Frugal Finds: An Entertaining Sunday Night in St. Michael for Free

FYCC and the St. Michael-Albertville Community Education department are teaming up for a "family fun" night that you don't want to miss.

  1. It’s not too early to think about Cub Foods (Rogers or Monticello) is already selling pre-sale tickets for the State Fair. Save money before the fair by buying your advance tickets as well as a discount book and ride tickets.
  2. Are you thinking about fall activities and lessons? Start looking into open houses for organizations. Many times just for attending open house they will offer a discount on registration. Know of any open houses for dance, gymnastics, karate? Let us know in the comments. in Rogers is having a grand opening open house Saturday August 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  3. STMA Community Ed and FYCC are having a community family fun fest at the Activity Center Sunday, August 21 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Go play Life Sized Candy Land, make arts and crafts, climb the National Guard rock wall and learn more about membership.
  4. A lot of moms and dads will be looking to get haircuts for the kids headed back to school in less than three weeks (yikes). There are great deals for trims locally. Just call around. Besides the usual "chains," and are just two of our local favorites.
  5. Shipping a care package to that new freshman? Check out , who can use any carrier, any time to get you the best rate on shipping. And, they've got all the materials handy to make sure your cookies don't break into pieces.
