Huge 'Rummage Sale With A Cause' at Albertville Parish Center Through Saturday

Funds raised through the sale will be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies for local kids in need.

A host of families from St. Albert's Parish, along with their friends and family, are back at it this weekend, helping out families with kids on their way back to school.

It's a two-fold process.

First, Pam Lindenfelser and friends collected more than a semi-load full of clothes, shoes, toys, trinkets and more for this weekend's 3rd annual St. Albert's "Back to School" Garage Sale.

The St. Albert's Parish Center was packed with items this morning. By noon today, it was packed with people.

The sale runs through 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Once it's wrapped, Lindenfelser and friends will collect the money and start shopping.

They'll hit supermarkets, retail stores and the usual suspects for enough back-to-school supplies to fill the back of the St. Albert Church.

Then, once services are set for Sunday, Aug. 28, they will begin handing out the backpacks to families in need.

"The process is pretty anonymous," Lindenfelser said. "We give the families a number, and then they go and grab the corresponding backpacks on their way out of church that day."

To donate to the cause, contact Lindenfelser for more information at 763-295-2756. Or, just swing on by the sale this weekend.
