A class that will be forever remembered as the first under principal Bob Driver, and for the emotional roller-coaster it had to endure, held its commencement ceremonies Friday night.

St. Michael-Albertville High School valedictorian Kevin Caron addressed his 294 other classmates with a bit of what his Principal Bob Driver like to call "pinache."

"What people think of you matters. Of course it does. And if being seen as a class the emerged from this year, going through what we did, as compassionate and a group of leaders, than I want it to matter. It should matter," Caron said.

Fellow honor student Elyssa Eull served as the class' president and master of ceremonies of the event, which lasted about 90 minutes Friday night in front of a full house at the St. Michael-Albertville High gym.

"The thing that always strikes me is you come here for for years, and we have to stay behind," he sad. "I want to say thank you. This is the last time I get to say that to you as a group. You've been outstanding. I want you all to come back, and visit. And I'm excited to see what the future holds for you."
