Students learned about the outdoor, environmental and historical aspects of the community at Crow-Hassan Regional Park.

Classrooms moved outdoors at the end of September as students from St. Michael-Albertville Middle School East had an outdoor education day at Crow-Hassan Regional Park.

The students walked to the park Sept. 20 and participated in several activities throughout the day geared toward environmental and historical education outdoors. Activities included using GPS devices to find geocaches, presentation by Wright County historical expert Robert Zahler, observing a restored prairie area and presentation on the historical background of the area.

Students also gathered prairie seeds to assist with prairie restoration of the area for Three River Park District and participated in other activities during the day-long trip.
