Special Olympics Group Gets a Bounce From Basketball Squad

The STMA Special Olympics delegation, which is hosting an informational meeting next Tuesday, got a helping hand from its favorite team in blue and gold.

The St. Michael-Albertville Special Olympics delegation will hold an athlete informational meeting Tuesdy, March 20, at in the Gries and Lenhart Room at . For more information, contact Jay Larson at 763-497-6988. Potential volunteers are welcome to attend as well.

Recently, the St. Michael-Albertville boys’ basketball players presented a check in the amount of $500 to Special Olympics’ Representatives prior to their game against Monticello. The varsity basketball players sold raffle tickets to generate $500 in proceeds for the STMA Special Olympics team, to help with their start-up costs.

Representing Special Olympics were Kelly Monicatti, Senior Sports Program Manager for Special Olympics Minnesota, and her daughters Alex and Grace, Jay Larson, Head of Delegation for the newly formed St. Michael-Albertville Special Olympics Team, and his son Nathan.  Other special guests in attendance were Andrew Chatelle, Chad and Aimee Libby and their children Peyton and Carson, and Jon and Rita Cichoski and their children Mark and Lauren.
