St. Michael-Albertville School Board Makes It Official, Hire Driver as New Principal

St. Michael-Albertville high school's current assistant principal, Bob Driver, will slip into the head spot upon Dale Carlson's retirement at the end of the school year.

Administrators in the St. Michael-Albertville school district have spent months planning and preparing for the hiring of a new high school principal, but after all was said and done, this thorough and lengthy process led them right back to one of their current school leaders.

That leader is high school assistant principal Bob Driver, who will officially drop the ‘assistant’ from his title for the 2011-2012 school year and become the new principal at STMA High School.

Driver edged out 38 other applicants for the position, and he expressed his excitement upon his official hiring at Monday night’s board meeting.

“I honestly really enjoyed the interview process; I thought it went very smoothly,” Driver said. “It’s going to be a great coming year … and I’m excited about being the head principal.”

The full story on Driver and his vision for the future of STMA High School will be available this weekend right here at St. Michael Patch.
