STMA Middle School Students Participate in Minnesota Geographic Bee

Brendan Devine and Cole Meyer represented the STMA Middle Schools during the April competition.

St. Michael-Albertville middle school students Brendan Devine and Cole Meyer recently traveled to St. Cloud State University April 5 for the annual National Geographic Bee.

STMA Middle School East student Cole Meyer won his school competition earlier in January to make the trip to state competition. Cole answered three questions correctly in the semifinal round – going up against the eventual winner .

Brendan Devine did competed for STMA Middle School West in the preliminary round.

“He did an excellent job in the competition,” STMA Middle School West teacher Lindsey Hannon said of Brenden. “The questions were very challenging and Brendan faced the challenge with lots of confidence and skill.  He ended up answering correctly 6 out of 8 rounds of questions.”

Students answered questions from the locations of national monuments to expeditions, according to a StarTribune.com article.
