STMA Public Schools Close March 18 Due to Weather Conditions

The district updated its decision to close schools Monday around 8:30 a.m.

Students in the St. Michael - Albertville public schools will not have school Monday, March 18, according to the ISD 885 website.

The announcement was shared about 8:30 a.m. Monday after officials earlier posted a two hour delay. The following was posted on the St. Michael - Albertville School website

School is closed today due to the weather conditions. No after school or community education activities. Thank you.

A blizzard warning continues for Wright County throughout the day, Monday, March 18. 

Winds could reach 25 to 35 miles per hour, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour causing “blowing and driving snow and visibility frequently down to one quarter mile or less.” Two to five inches of new snow is forecast.

St. Michael Catholic School - Due to the road & weather conditions, St. Michael Catholic School will be closed today.

What changed from 5:15 when we got the first call to 8:30? We all knew the weather was bad. However, by 8:30 it stopped snowing.
