Are you looking for a different way to end the summer before school starts? SOAR Regional Arts is proud to present its first summer of theater camps running August 12-16, 2013. There is something for everyone, including classes never before offered in our area by acclaimed instructors. All youth ages 5-18 are encouraged to sign up!
Fight Choreography/Stage Combat (ages 7-12 & 13-18)
Instructor Annie Enneking comes with credentials ranging from the Guthrie stage to Hollywood movie sets! Students will learn to perform fundamental techniques in the basic fight choreography disciplines. The emphasis is on the development of technique and the process of the work, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and the fundamental techniques needed to protect the actor and their instrument when engaged in dramatic physical encounters on stage.

Movement for Actors (ages 13-18)
This class will expose the students to what musical theatre is, and how dance and dancers fit into it. The class will observe the technique, energy, diversity and performance of the participants, as well as learn a short combo/routine that focuses on detail, timing, and expression. Movement for Actors will be instructed by recognized dancer and choreographer, Jeff Quast.

Beginning Broadway (ages 5-7)
A great introductory dance class for boys and girls! Instructor Anna Hickey will teach the children with a fun and energetic style that is sure to captivate the little starlets. The participants will learn basic introductory dance and movement in the classic musical theatre styling of tap. The class will culminate in a brief performance on the final day.
Broadway Stars (ages 8-12)
An exciting class designed for youth who love musical theater! Choreographer Anna Hickey uses her dynamic, captivating, and motivational style of teaching to lead and coach the participants dance routines in the style of jazz. Specifically, participants will learn the crucial art of acting and dancing at the same time, while enhancing their jazz dance skills. The class will culminate in a short performance on the final day.
