Knights Baseball Eliminated From Postseason

St. Michael-Albertville's season comes to an end with 2-0 loss to Sauk Rapids in Section 8AAA opener.

The 2011 season came to a swift close for the St. Michael-Albertville baseball team as the Knights were defeated, 2-0, by Sauk Rapids in its Section 8AAA opener on Monday.

After five innings of scoreless play, fifth-seeded Sauk Rapids pushed across a pair of runs in the sixth inning which proved to be the clinching tallies as No. 4 seed STMA was unable to get on the board while managing just two hits.

Steven Kiesner and Tyler Dallum earned the Knights lone trips on base over the seven innigns as Brian Lavallee was the hard-luck loser, giving up two earned runs on six hits, while striking out seven and walking two.

The defeat concluded STMA's season with a 12-9 overall record.
