Results: 2013 Trail Blazer 5K and 10K at Crow-Hassan Park Reserve

Several runners from St. Michael and Albertville earned top spots in the 5K and 10K. Check out the top results.

On Saturday, June 15, runners took to the trails at Crow-Hassan Park Reserve for the first Trail Blazer 5K and 10K

“With gorgeous weather and a vibrant group of runners the event went off without a hitch.  The event raised hundreds of dollars for the great beneficiaries; MN Epilepsy Foundation and Minnesota Association Children's Mental Health,” according to Race Director Roger Derham. “It was great to see so many people out supporting this event.”

More than 100 runners turned out for event, including Big Lake High School student 17-year-old Cory Gease.

“Cory is now a very healthy 17-year-old young man. However, this was not the case six years ago where he was experiencing many seizures,” Derham said, stating the seizures resulted in brain surgery for Gease. “Since the operation Cory's seizures have ceased and only experiences a small blind spot. Cory came out to the race to support the good work that the MN Epilepsy Foundation does. “

Gease came in fourth place in the 5K with a time off 23:00.
