Sports Roundup: St. Michael-Albertville Tennis Season Comes to a Close

The Knights' individual netters competed at the sectional tournament on Monday; Knights swim/dive wins on Tuesday.

As the autumn sports season inched closer to its conclusion, the St. Michael-Albertville girls tennis team's season came to an end in sectional competition while the Knights girls swimming and diving team won its second-to-last meet of the regular season.

Girls Tennis

Selected members of the STMA girls tennis team closed out their seasons on Monday in the Section 5AA individual tournament at Reed-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis.

Both Knights doubles teams, Breanna Hagerty/Kylie Slavin and Cierra Eystad/Hailey Fritze both won their opening matches before succumbing in the second round. Singles players Jessica Duda and Kiana Eystad both fell in the first round.

The STMA girls swimming and diving team defeated Waconia, 95-86, on Tuesday night. Individual statistics were not made available. The Knights take on Elk River/Zimmerman in the regular-season finale on Oct. 25.
