St. Michael-Albertville Shuts Out Princeton in Season Opener

The Knights' defense created a touchdown and shut down the Tigers' offense, while the offense slammed the door in the second quarter.

St. Michael-Albertville cruised to a 21-0 win over Princeton on its home field Thursday night, opening the coach Jared Essler era with two first quarter touchdowns, and never looking back.

The Knights' defense was stellar, giving up no yards in the first quarter, and vitually shutting down any offensive threat with big plays in the second half.

On offense, Cole Krutzig sealed the deal with a 62-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Ryan Lyzhoft nabbed the season's first touchdown with a tough run down the far sideline, breaking four tackles and going 28 yards for the score.
