Streets Flood After Sunday Storm in St. Michael, Albertville

The National Weather Service had a flash flood warning effective 10 a.m. Sunday, June 23.

An early morning storm in St. Michael and Albertville dropped up to 2.5 inches across the community Sunday, causing “street flooding and road closures” in both cities – and prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning until 10 a.m. Sunday, June 23.

A flood warning is also in effect until 10:30 a.m. for St. Michael, Albertville and the rest of Wright County.

Updated 9:50 a.m. June 23, 2013: Across the St. Michael and Albertville communities, "street flooding" was pretty evident when Wright County Sheriff Sgt. Scott Halonen came on duty about 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

No injuries were reported from the flooding, according to Halonen. The Wright County Sheriff's Office continues to monitor the situation as water continues to flow "downhill," he said, stating areas of Franklin Township were experiencing "washed out roads" as of 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Cities impacted have been notified by the Wright County Sheriff's Office as was the highway maintenance department and the Wright County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services.

As of 10 a.m., Wright County continues to remain under a flood warning issued by the National Weather Service until 10:30 a.m. June 23.

More information will be updated as it becomes available.
