National Weather Service Issues Fire Warning for St. Michael, Albertville

A Red Flag warning has been issued until 9 p.m. tonight and also Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning for St. Michael, Albertville and much of Central Minnesota.

A Red Flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occuring now or will be shortly. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidity with warm temperatures can create explosive fire growth potential.

Today's forecast includes as low as 20 percent humidity and temperatures as high as 80 to 85. Tuesday's temperature is expected to be as high as 88 to 93.

Winds today are moving South between 20 to 25 MPH with stong gusts moving at 35 MPH.

The warning is in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday night. During this time, bon fires are strongly discouraged as they can grow and move quickly due to the wind and low humidity.
